2.2.2 VScom 200Ei-SI PCIex

The VScom 200Ei-SI PCIex card features two optical isolated serial ports, available via a PCI

Express slot. It is an optically isolated version of the VScom 200Ei PCIex card, the isolation is

also eﬀective in RS 232 mode.

The maximum speed is 15.625 Mbit/s, but this is theoretical because the electrical interface is not

capable of such transmission rates. The surge protection adds some load on the signal lines, so the

maximum bitrates are reduced compared to the 200Ei card.

In a functional view the 200Ei-SI is very similar to the non-isolated 200Ei, especially the conﬁgu-

ration of operation modes and Termination/BIAS is the same.
