2 Introduction

2.2.6 VScom 800I UPCI

The VScom 800I UPCI card features eight serial ports, available via a classic PCI slot. All eight

serial ports share one common connector DB78-female. An adapter cable to eight times DB9-male

is provided. For signal assignment see 18.

The maximum speed is 921.6 kbit/s. This can be reduced to 115,200 bit/s for compatibility issues,

using jumper JP1.

The operation mode is conﬁgured via the small DIP switches according to table 12. Also resistors

for Termination and BIAS option are built-in, conﬁgured by a block of jumpers as of table 10.

There is a jumper for compatibility mode, this is used to conﬁgure the maximum bitrate of the

serial ports.
